We all know 2020 has been a year like no other. In fact, the Tocker Foundation had a record low number of grant requests in June. Shocking? Not really. The likely reason is that librarians were scrambling to adapt to the requirements of living in a pandemic and still provide needed services to their communities. They are thoughtful, civic leaders that way.
Now, the next grant deadline is approaching – January 15th, 2021. And we want to remind all the hard-working librarians in Texas towns with populations of 12,000 or less that we are here. We want to help. And a crucial step in that process is to answer your questions or provide feedback on your grant project ideas long before you ever hit that submit button. It may save you time if you are considering something outside our giving guidelines. It may also expand your idea when we tell you to think bigger. Either way, we strongly encourage every applicant to call and talk with one of us first. No appointment or video capability needed, just a friendly voice on the other end of the phone.
