Automation

A robust, integrated automation system is vital to every library and the foundation is interested is making sure that every small library in Texas is automated. Every once in a while we come across small libraries that, for a variety of reasons, have yet to make the transition to a fully automated system. These are the libraries that are prime candidates for an automation grant.  Such grants cover the first five years of the selected software subscription. At the end of the five years, it is expected that the library will be prepared to integrate this expense into their annual budget.

In order to facilitate this important transition, these grants are available year-round with a dedicated application available on our online portal. No deadline.

Do a thorough assessment with your patrons and other stakeholders to focus your request on the areas of greatest need. Example, what would your teens like to see; what do your crafters need; ask moms and teachers for their thoughts regarding the children’s area, etc.
